It has just been crazy busy at our house the last couple weeks and is going to be another really busy week next week also. I'm ready for the boys to be out of school for the summer, so we can slow down a little. The boys are going to continue there swimming lessons this summer and then each of them have another activity they will be doing. Jonas is doing T-Ball, Jeremiah is doing his gifted program and Malachi is doing Mother's Day out. So we will have activities 2 days a week and other than that we are FREE to do whatever this summer. I don't like to get summers over booked. The kids stay so busy all school year and I want them to just be free to play and be kids without so many places to be. I think they have like 3more weeks of school. I have a whistle here at my house that is MINE. I don't call it a whistle. I call it "MY SANITY SAVER." The boys get to fighting with each other and they know if I blow that whistle they had better stop it or else. ;-)

I can't believe this year I am going to have a 6(July), 11(Aug) and 4(Dec) yr old in my house... They are getting so big! Kinda fun having them a little bigger sometimes like when we go places and other times I really miss the baby stage.

I had an MRI on my hand this week and will find out the results next week. They are considering doing one more surgery on my wrist. I kid you now.... I am thinking that that MRI will not show the need for surgery... I do not plan on having another.......

Fun Sunday in the sun

We have had a great day out in the sun riding bikes, playing with our pup and the boys played with Maggie the little girl next door. We also took a long drive this morning. Rosebud loves to play fetch. It's a little different not going to church on Sunday anymore, but you know what WE LIKE IT... We get two mornings to be lazy. ;-) Going to church Saturday evenings has not been bad at all for us. Church was great last night at north Point. I was volunteering in the baby room. Yes, baby room and I got to hold baby girls the entire hour... That was pretty cool! ;-)

GI diet

Have any of you heard of the Glycemic Index? It is more a healthy way of eating than a diet. I actually usually eat pretty close to this diet anyway, but have really watched it the last week and I can tell my hand does a little better. Even if you don't want to do the total diet you can just make sure you have low index foods with your high index foods at each meals.

It can help with chronic pain by reducing pro-Inflammatory foods and eating anti-inflammatory foods. So whether you want to get healthier, loss weight, control diabetes, Reduction in joint pain due to Arthritis, Improved digestion, Lower blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels or get Relief from symptoms of depression etc. this diet maybe for you.

What is the Glycemic Index?

Not all carbohydrate foods are created equal, in fact they behave quite differently in our bodies. The glycemic index or GI describes this difference by ranking carbohydrates according to their effect on our blood glucose levels. Choosing low GI carbs- the ones that produce only small fluctuations in our blood glucose and insulin levels- is the secret to long-term health reducing your risk of heart disease and diabetes.

How to Switch to a Low GI Diet?

The basic technique for eating the low GI way is simply a "this for that" approach- ie, swapping high GI carbs for low GI carbs. You don't need to count numbers or do any sort of mental arithmetic to make sure you are eating a healthy, low GI diet.

  • Use breakfast cereals based on oats, barley and bran
Use breads with whole grains, stone-ground flour, sour dough
Reduce the amount of potatoes you eat
Enjoy all other types of fruit and vegetables
    Use Basmati rice
    Enjoy pasta and noodles
Eat plenty of salads and vegetables

Neti pot for sinus health

Have any of you heard or used a Neti pot? It is awesome for allergies or sinus problems. If your nasal passages are blocked because of pollution, pollen, dust and other irritants this simple nasal irrigation technique to be of invaluable benefit to you. I decided I was going to try this because I usually have allergies and sinus issues this time of year. I was So impressed with the results I wanted to share. I would highly recommend you give this a try. A simple yet very powerful technique, neti works wonders for chronic sinusitis, and allergies. It has a remarkable effect on upper respiratory tract infections, especially hay fever. In fact, neti is so beneficial that responses usually change from "YUK, there is no way I am ever going to try that" to "WOW. That is fantastic. I am hooked for life" after just one use. You can buy this for about $15. at walmart in the pharmacy area.
  • Neti pot instructions:
    1. Prepare the saline solution (*) with lukewarm water and fill the neti pot. Hot water is irritating and dangerous. Cool water is not soothing.
  • 2. Tilt your head to the side as shown in the picture at the beginning of this article..
  • 3. Insert spout of neti pot gently into the raised nostril creating a seal between the neti pot and the nostril. If it drains out of your mouth, lower your forehead in relation to your chin. Relax. If you are calm, the water flows right through. But if you aren't, it just won't flow. If you keep breathing through your mouth, relaxed, the water should gently flow through the nose on its own. There's no forcing it.
  • 4. Raise the neti pot slowly to develop a steady flow of saline solution through the upper nostril and out the lower nostril.
  • 5. During the process breathe through your mouth.
  • 6. When you're done, exhale firmly several times to clear the nasal passages.
  • 7. Reverse the tilt of your head and repeat the process on the other side.
GRAMPS GOT A TURKEY TODAY!!

Dentist

Jeremiah had his dentist appointment yesterday to have 2 baby teeth pulled. He was so not thrilled, but did a great job. He had one baby tooth behind another baby tooth and a new tooth trying to come in, so he had to get them out. They were stuck in there.... After it was all over I took him to McDonald's and got him a much deserved chocolate milkshake. He did great the rest of the day and it back at school today. Mam-ma & Pap-Pa came up and watched Malachi for me.

Spring Cleaning

I have been busy this week cleaning the boys rooms. Not a little cleaning the deep cleaning. The boys don't have to big of rooms, so easy for them to become cluttered. I am taking alot of stuff out of there rooms. They just don't need that much stuff in there bedrooms. I really wish we had a play room to put all the extra toys, but for now they are in the garage. Malachi is loving his clean organized room. I just got Jeremiah's and Jonas done last night. The hall way still needs some work... Which is where I am heading... Life just seems to go better when everything has it's place...

I have been thinking the last few days while doing some Spring cleaning that it's a good time to also Spring clean our heart to make more room for what God has for us. So much stuff can clutter our lives that we can't see through it to see what God is showing us. So, as you Spring clean your house also take some time to pray and ask God what clutter has gotten in the way of you and God.

Birthday/Easter pictures

EASTER SERVICES AT NORTH POINT CHURCH!!

We had 6,148 in attendance for Easter at North Point!!!!! 6 services! This is so incredible... Many lives were changed today. You would need to see the movie Slumdog Millionaire to appreciate it. Essentially, the movie is about an orphan boy from India who uses his life experiences to answer questions on India's version of "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire." He is not motivated by money. Instead, he is constantly searching for a girl he met as a child. He goes to extreme lengths to find her and pull her to safety. Pastor Tommy used that as a way to show how God went to extreme lengths (by sending Jesus to die on a cross) to bring us back to Him.

At the end of the movie the cast did the Jai Ho Dance. It's a celebration dance. And, NPC used it as an illistration of the celebration that goes on in heaven when people give their hearts to Christ. If you want to see what they did at the end of each service Click here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Today is Kyle's 35th birthday! We are going to color eggs and then have a pizza party. We have him a chocoate cake for later this afternoon. Pretty cool having his birthday on Easter! Today is also his dads birthday.

I HOPE YOU GUYS HAVE A GREAT BIRTHDAY!

THE NUMBERS ARE IN!!

North point church had its first ever Saturday night service and there was over 1100 adults in the sanctuary. That is not counting kids or kids workers! CAN YOU SAY WOW!!! It was so cool. They were putting chairs everywhere. It was SO exciting... I love npc and what they do there is just amazing. Wonder what the numbers will be for all 6 services...

Starting this weekend we are going to attend the Saturday night service every week. It will be different and Kyle has already confused himself several times thinking the boys have school tomorrow. They ask that 300-400 people go to the Saturday night service to make room for visitors. So we decided to start attending the Saturday evening service starting this week.

We started going to a new small group this evening after church. It is 4 couples and about 10kids. we started the Fireproof small group study this week. It was interesting... We grilled Hamburgers and hot dogs and had a great time. The boys were thrilled because one of the kids there is Chase. He is Jeremiah's best friend.

Date Night!

Kyle and I had a blast on our date tonight. Our good friend Sam came and watched the boys for us. The boys love to hang out with him. We headed to supper first at Zios. That was yummy! We then headed to go skating. That was alot of fun. Kyle is not a big fan of skating, but had fun I think. He did fall gracefully once or twice. ;-) We then headed to the mall to hang out and then to get some desert. Kyle had a banana split and I had a hamburger. Well, I don't eat ice cream and I was hungry. We are back home now and boys are in bed. We are watching Hillsong on tv and then Sam will head home. He said the boys were very well behaved and they had a great time... I'm really glad we have started taking time to date again...

Live every day like it could be The Day that Jesus returns. (Matthew 24:42-44) Wow. That puts things in perspective doesn't it!

Bring Me To Life - North Point Church

This song was done at our church a couple weeks ago. some people would say this is a little much for church, but I'd say then you haven't been to North Point church. ;-)

The other day I heard this song on a ladies phone. I said, hey our church just did that song. she said your church really did that song. She thought it was so Cool a church would dare to do that. You can't be afraid to do what will reach people. I thought there was only one way to do church and I was under that misconception until we started attending npc a few years ago. It has opened my eyes to a whole new way of thinking about really reaching people.

Sometimes we just need God to "Wake us up Inside."

This is my blog & I'll cry if I want to

Want to know why I'm crying???? I hurt myself again... I know you all are like what is your deal.. I am tired of all this stuff happening to me. I really like to just blend in and stay out of sight. ;-) Anyway, I was making spaghetti this evening and my pot has a pasta lid on it with wholes to drain the water out. I was draining the hot water out and my bad hand just gave way and scalded some fingers on my bad hand! This is so not cool. So now I have burnt my fingers on my bad hand.. Man alive... Kyle just couldn't believe I would do such a thing to myself. He said I knew you would do anything to get back into therapy. ;-) So they should be ouchy for awhile...

Kyle has a new blog at http://kyledowden.blogspot.com/ He will be talking about probably everything under the sun. Feel free to drop by and read his blog. His plans are to just discuss relevant topics for today's world. He usually has some interesting ways of looking at things, so head over and check it out...

This blog Blessed By Stress is mostly about motherhood and family. Although it has taken on all my hand and our ministry stuff lately. I'd like to get back to other stuff. The things I write are not about look at me, but more about here is what I am going through and maybe it can help someone else. Sometimes it's a great feeling to know that your not the only one out there that doesn't have it all together.

I took another quiz on facebook..

HOW MANY KIDS WILL YOU HAVE!!!

3 Girls

Oh my! What a noisy house you will have once these three start to get into clothes. From drama about a boy at school to a fight for who's going to borrow the pink sweater to the movies, you are going to have a lot on your plate!

THIS IS ONE OF THE CURLIST QUIZES I HAVE EVER TAKEN....

We have had our sweet RoseBud a year now..

We got our puppy Rosebud last year right before Easter. She is a sweet pup and we love her. She is so talented and will bring her bowl to you at the door. ;-) I love this on cold days!! She also sits when you tell her to. She is still a little rowdy, but is calming down.

The boys think daddy is a gungle gym!

Daddy and the boys playing Wii Fit together. There doing the Ski jump!

I absolutely loved the sunshine today! I can't believe it was that cold outside yesterday. I am so ready for Spring so we can get outside and talk walks and play. We had a busy day, but a great day!

It's been 10months since our accident. I still get chills thinking about it sometimes. My tire marks are still there in plan sight under that bridge... What an experience this has been. It just pretty much has turned our life upside down.

They told me the morning of June 8Th when I was in the Nero-intensive care that most people in that kind of an accident put in that area had brain damage. I just get all broke up and start shedding tears when I think about it all. I can still hear my little boys screaming mommy help me. Oh my there is no feeling like that. This has been a exasperating last 10months with therapy and surgeries.

So, 10 months of therapy and 3 surgeries later. They want to do another surgery on my wrist. It will be taking a tendon out of my arm and putting it in my wrist. A very tedious surgery with a big recovery time and no guarantee it Will help. It could also make my hand worse. I am 100% planning on just wearing my splint and passing on any more surgeries. the deal with my wrist is that with my wrist tendon being shredded in the accident and then all the surgeries it has just gotten really weak and isn't holding the wrist area down. It pulls way up from my hand into my arm without the splint to hold it down. It might heal back down eventually or it may not. My hand is somewhat stiff. It has a tight feeling all the time that makes me claustrophobic at times. If you are looking at your hand on the palm side and pull your fingers down. I can on my good hand pull them down to my wrist. On the bad hand I can only pull them down not half way down my hand. It's not like I can't do anything, but I am limited.

Ok so it sure is an ice breaker!! ;-) Not that I need one much anymore since I don't' seem to be very shy. I talk all the time! It has most defiantly brought me out of my shell. I don't care as much what people think of me and just be myself. I try to live each day like it is my last... I never thought that I would have a wreck on that day that almost ended tragic. You just never know what each day hold.

LOVE DARE!!

Kyle and I did the LOVE DARE book. We just finished in the last day of March. It is a really neat book like used in the movie Fireproof. It has daily challenges for you and your spouse. Like DO SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY TODAY FOR YOUR SPOUSE. It was fun to see each day what the other one would come up with. We are very glad we took the DARE. It talks about Unconditional Love. Unconditional love is eagerly promised at weddings, but rarely practiced in real life. I encourage you to just TAKE THE DARE!! It is worth your time!!!

Tooooooooo Sweet!!

I took this yesterday on our lazy Sunday afternoon. They had there tummy's full of Tacos and Nascar was on the TV. Life is just pretty good. ;-)

Super Mom Syndrome!! Do you have it???

Are you trying to be a SUPER MOM??? Are you frazzled and tired??? You could have Super Mom Syndrome. I am trying to overcome this! I encourage you to stop trying to be super mom and just be a mom that takes time to enjoy her kids while there little and lets stuff go. Yes, you can spend your whole day cleaning and trying to get your house clean. You have probably passed up on playtime with kids and getting together with people, but guess what... Is your house any cleaner when you work on it all day than if you don't?? The answer is usually no!! When you have toddler tornadoes in your house life is just cluttered. I'd rather my house be cluttered than my kids grow up thinking keeping my house spotless is more important than time with them. So when your kids get really interested in doing something during the day just set a timer for 20min or so and "bust a move" and get as much done as you possible can in that time and then stop. don't clean all your days away and it's so easy to do that when you stay home and see all that needs to be done.
Have your kids help you cook and clean. I have 3 boys and I consider it "daddy's in training." They can help you do all kinds of things. Yes, it will take a little longer but you have also spent time with them. If you hate folding clothes listen to a book Cd, sermon or music on your ipod to make it more fun. Find what works for your family when it comes to laundry. I have heard of some that do one load everyday and some that do it all in one day. If a task that needs to be done takes less than 30seconds go do it right then. If you pass something that needs to be picked up take time and pick it up. You say well I have to pick it up anyway so I'll just do it later. well, in the end just taking time to do a few things will make a difference in the whole days mess. At the end of the day I want to be able to say that I have taken time with my kids...

Family night out!

We had a blast bowling tonight. We went with some friends from church. 3 other couples and there kids. One of the kids is Chase. He is Jeremiah's best friend and they have so much fun together. Yes, even mala and I bowled. As you can see in the pic I used the ramp thing to bowl and it worked great.

Easter Egg Hunt this morning

Malachi got his pictures taken to at our MOPS fundraiser with Classic Color. They dressed him up in a tuxedo and he was so adorable. He smiled really good the whole time he was in there. He didn't act shy at all. They have really cute little props just the kids size. Like a little piano...

Our MOPs group today was great. We learned about safe cleaning supplies. Some alternative to buying some of those chemicals. We decorated reusable shopping bag for our craft. We had a cool moment at mops today. A mom that goes there has been trying for a baby for a long long time. she has had to have a few surgeries for health reasons and then has had many IVF procedures done. They had moved on and were adopting a newborn baby. At the last minute the day they were to get the baby the mom changed her mind and kept the baby. This mom was devastated. Later that same day that they found out they were not going to get there adopted baby she found out they were pregnant with a little blessing of there own... How exciting for them.

Call on him..

People seem to be suffering these days. Stress, Anxiety & depression comes so easy to so many during these hard times. Christians are so blessed to have the lines open to Jesus 24/7. Continue to focus on Him even during these struggles.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Phil. 4:6:

Check it out!

Hubby is joining the blogger world. Check out his new blog.
The Clock Is Ticking!

Don't spend your life trying to be something God hasn't made you to be...

I have spent the morning trying to learn some chords on the piano and did learn several and played Amazing Grace. Now my hand is killing me, so I guess that is not a good idea. I felt so like I wanted to conquer something this morning that I convented myself I could play inspire of my hand. I am thinking this was not a good idea now...

All my life I have strived to be really really good at something...You know those people that are so great at things. Why couldn't I have a talent that everyone respected and acknowledged??? For years I searched for some great accomplishment that could be mine... Why do we think we are not good enough??? I know mine is being the best wife and stay at home mom I can be. This doesn't end when your baby goes school. There is still so much to do like room mom, Field trips, reading groups, being there before and after school. Dodson says one of the best things you can do for a teen is be there for them when they get home from school. Just be there... I am sad that I am done with that part of my life of having babies. I absolutely love babies and wanted more more. ;-) If anyone left one on my door I'd grab it up!! I love kids. We have seriously considerd adoption and are still very open to it it's God plan for us. I feel kinda like I have enough on my plate maybe. I've kinda been struggling with now what syndrome... When you have your first it's so exciting and you start looking forward to the second and third.. but what happens when you have your third and are done having babies.. What do you look forward to then?? I'm there.. I've started to realize that my kids need me more than ever as they get older. I thought they needed ya more when they were younger, but in this world we live in they need so much prayer, direction, love, praise and just your time... Time something so simple, but it means so much... So if you are a stay at home mom/housewife be proud of who you are. God put you here to nurture your children and be there for them. It is one of the most important jobs on this earth. Be proud of who God made you to be and use the strenghths you have to find your way... Stop trying to be something your not and feeling inadequate. This can apply to everyones life. Find what your gifts are and do them well. God gave you those gifts for a reason.
  • Here is some good ideas for Stay at home moms...
  • 1. Feel Proud of What You Do-"I'm raising my children, and teaching them. What better use of my skills"
  • 2. Keep in Touch with Friends- I do a MOPS group and it is awesome
  • 3. Get Organized- Get a schedule, things go much better if kids know what to expect
  • 4. Get in Touch with Your Creative Side-Finding time for you is so important. Whether you make crafts or are involved in the PTA, you have to have activities besides housework and children. I am very involved with my MOPS group. I stared a card ministry for the moms.
